Commenting On Blogs For Better Exposure

by Remi Vladuceanu on January 13, 2010

Commenting on blogs related to your particular niche can not only bring you backlinks that search engine spiders and bots can follow and index your website or blog, but it can give  you a better exposure of your online business, whether it is a blog or a sales letter on a website.

I probably should say that spamming is out of the question… I don’t use such tactics since they are not ethical and against search engine’s Terms of Service and I do not encourage such actions in any way. Plus, I could get my blog banned from the search engines for doing that.

If you want to comment on other blogs and link back to your website or blog, make sure you first read the article, understand it and comment on the subject with a decent, intelligent reply. Not a spammy message like: ‘Great article dude!’

An interesting thing happens when you comment intelligently on other blogs: some of the people reading those articles will also read the comments below the article. And if your comment is right to the point and interesting, it’s a high possibility that the reader will click through, onto your website.

And that’s how you gain more visitors to your website and more customers for your business! You can capture those visitors’ info like their first name and email address and every time you post a new article on your blog, you can send them a short email and instantly get visitors to your blog.

I made a habit of bookmarking the various blogs I visited in the past, blogs that looked like valuable in terms of content. Now I have a couple of hundred blogs that I can visit, read and post comments on.

And what I want to do next is a little experiment to see how much exposure and how much traffic I could get by consistently commenting on some of the high trafficked blogs I’ve bookmarked over the years.

I will start commenting on five blogs every day for a month, constantly monitoring the traffic I get from those blogs. I can easily do that with Google’s Analytics tool.

I will do a check on this, every week, to see what has changed and I think the results will be interesting, least to say. Because commenting on other blogs on a regular basis can not only bring you traffic and get you a better exposure but it can also affect your blog’s ranking in the search engines in a positive way.

Also, your page rank can grow because your website or blog becomes, gradually, more and more popular. We’ll see what happens in the following weeks.

Now, you see… You didn’t even bother to read the article… I said no spamming in comments and look what a “nice” comment you left me… I’m sure you can do much better than that…
